LB925

Require employment of Nebraska laborers for public works projects during excessive unemployment. (Sen. McGill priority bill)

Description:

LB925 would require employment of Nebraskans for public works projects during periods of excessive unemployment unless they are not available or are incapable of performing the particular type of work involved. The bill defines Nebraska laborer, excessive unemployment and public works. LB925 was introduced due to extraordinary circumstances surrounding Nebraska’s unemployment numbers during the past year. This bill is narrowly targeted to ensure that Nebraskan’s are employed for public works projects during lean economic times.
