Related to verification of legal status of employees

Description:

Require that by Dec. 31, 2010, every employer, after hiring an employee, must verify the employee's legal status through the Federal E-Verify system operated by the Dept. of Homeland Security.  The bill also states that any contractor who wishes to provide services to the State or any political subdivision in the State would not be allowed to enter into a contract without proof that all employees have been verified through the E-Verify system.  CARRYOVER TO 2010 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
