The Business and Labor Committee is responsible for processing legislation involving the following subject areas: • workers’ compensation; Workers’ Compensation Court • unemployment compensation • labor and employment relations; Commission of Industrial Relations; fair employment practices • health and safety regulations; labor conditions • claims against the State • miscellaneous; purchase American-made goods; state employees day care services; disability • compensation for state employees; plant closings; Job Training Act; boiler inspection • Wage Payment and Collection Act; Wage and Hour Act • Nebraska Elevator Code During session, the Business and Labor Committee meets on Mondays in Room 2102 on the 2nd Floor of the Capitol. |
