Give To Lincoln Day

Thursday, May 17, 2012

Give To Lincoln Day, organized by the Lincoln Community Foundation, is 24 hours of giving on Thursday, May 17th. On this one special day, everyone is encouraged to make an ONLINE gift to their favorite Lincoln, Nebraska nonprofit organization.  We hope you include the Center for People in Need.

More than 40,000 Lincoln residents - over 17 percent of the populaltion -live in poverty. Nearly half of them are in extreme poverty, meaning their income is 50 percent or more below federal poverty guidelines. The Center helps provide food and find medical help for the uninsured. We offer opportunities for job skills training and work experience, and we offer English language classes. We are able to do this every day because of your generosity.

So, please remember May 17 and make an ONLINE donation to the Center on that day. Help us continue to serve those in need in our community.
