Basic Education Classes

Through a partnership with Southeast Community College, the Center offers English as Second Language (ESL) and General Equivalency Diploma (GED) classes for basic, intermediate and advanced levels at no charge to clients. A computer lab is available to help clients become more familiar with Microsoft Office programs and learn basic computer skills.

Computer Lab

The computer lab is open to the public from 4:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesdays and 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Saturdays.

Computer Classes

Basic computer skills classes are now being offered the first four Tuesdays of the month at no cost beginning Oct. 4. All classes are at the Center for People in Need’s 27th Street Conference Center computer lab at 6:30 p.m. These classes are mainly for people who have little or no computer skills, no prior computer knowledge necessary! Classes last between 60 and 90 minutes

First Tuesday: Using a Personal Computer

Second Tuesday: Writing a Resume

Third Tuesday: Creating and Using an Email Account

Fourth Tuesday: Online Job Searching
